Replacing the dash takes some time. But its worth it if you have to do it. You'll end up taking out the center console, the front roof trim and all the instruments, and even dick around with the glovebox possibly. The two bolts in the front corners are very hard to find at first. I recommend a long 1/4" drive socket extension. Getting the dash into position is a lot of fun too. But the results are worth it. I hate to say it but it took me two half day sessions, one to strip and clean and transfer some parts and clean A/C and heater control switches since they are out of the car, and another to put it back in.
Good luck.
Hi,
I am about to get my 745i back after some slight work(engine transplant, muffler, sunroof repair, reseal, oh god i've lost track....). I was just wondering what kind of hell a guy has to go through to replace the dash (the DASH not the controls)in one of these babies. Another thing is that I want factory wheels on my car. It now has BBS RS (I think, but they are just like those on the Tuoma perfection car....16 inch....), and I would like to sell these. What are they worth and is anyone interested??? Anyone got a ducktail spoiler for this car that they could part with??
P.S.--in case you've not noticed, I've decided to hold on to the car for a while...no longer for sale (unless of course, you'd like to pay 10000 plus for it...)
TIA,
Adam
