Thanks for the quick info from some of you guys.
I had my son get in the car and I operated the trunk lock while he pulled up on the lock button and tried the door handle at the same time. After two or three trys it unlocked and opened up! Fantastic!! I did have to charge the battery yesterday after the car sat for a few months. I checked alternator output and it was good. I suspect the drain is from a faulty lock motor in this door. I disconnected the power lock module as a precaution until I get time to tear the door apart.
Thanks again ,Tom in PA
I am just going over my '86 735 this weekend in anticipation of the dreaded winters here in NW PA and I have a problem with the left rear door. The door is locked and won't open.
The power locks work from the trunk lock, all but that door.
The button will not pull up and the handle inside will not open it. I know I may have a problem with the door lock mechanism, but how do I overcome the lockout mode to get in and work on it??? There is no access anywhere with the door shut.
I am sure this happened to someone else on this board.
HELP!!!!!!
Thanks guys for all the past help,
Regards,
Tom M. in PA
