A friend of my dad's decided to bring his '89 MB 300E that he kept in Paris. He spent around $10K federalizing the car and now he has an 11 year old MB with no power windows or sunroof (it does have A/C though), snubbed by the MB dealers in the area and it still cost him the same as if he had just sold his car in France and bought a better equipped US spec car here. Moral of the story: unless it's a rare one like a Z1, don't bother.
