About a month ago I replaced the starter on my 85 735i. Now just about every time you start the car just when the starter disengages there is a short zing sound of the gears. Is there something wrong with the starter? It is under warranty so I need to figure this out before it expires

Check the flywheel. The teeth on it, which the starter will engage, could be worn. This will cause a mechanical "zing" sound. Happened on my 84 733 and I had to have the flywheel changed. Good luck.
