Bruce: Funny you should ask, I just finished switching the driver and passenger seats in my 83' 733i. It was quite easy, however, my seats were not electric. I took both seats out and switched the sliding mechanisms (4 bolts each). this kept the trim and the slide handle .in the right area. The only problem is that the recline handle is now on the inside of both seats, not much of a problem. If your seats are fully electric then there might be other problems.
