Go to METRIC MECHANIC.COM I don't know how it is spelled but something like that. They have a page on their site discussing differential ratios and hp and torque and more. They said that in most applications for BMW engine torque characteristics the 3.45:1 is optimal. I have one on my 745i and it is deffinately a lot more responsive than my buddies who has the stock 2.93:1 diff. The above mentioned page is informative and should help to answer some of your questions.

Thanks for your response. Did you install the 3/45:1` unit or did it come with you car?

If you did the installation did you do it yourself or did you have someone do it for you?

Thanks for your comments.
