I haven't had the pleasure of replacing one yet but I've read good things about the DEC unit on the e28 board.

Hi all,

My Catalytic Converter has rusted through at the bottom and I need help:

1. Has anyone "patched" with a piece of stainless steel at the bottom to cover the area that rusted though?

2. If I need replacement, here is how it goes:

a. BMW OEM Cat. Converter is $1800.00!

b. Aftermarket Converter (per www.allbmwparts.com):

Harvey Miller CC is only $350.00 and apparently makes CC for BMW. Is this true?

DEC costs approx. the same as Harvey Miller and seems OK.

However, most people tell me the BMW OEM is the best but I cannot justify the price.

Here is where I need the help: anyone with any experience with Harvey Miller and DEC?

Any experience (good or bad) is appreciated.
