Thanks for your followup. Ditto on the 20 MPG. You indicate mine is an L7. What is the significance of the L7? Also, can you tell me something about the buttons near the rear window switches on the back of the console. Thanks.
Don't know that I can help on the suspension, but that does sound like something to be looked after. Like you, I found an 86 L7 a few months ago for $1000. I wanted it for parts for my 86 535, but now it gets more attention that the 5. I did have to swap the auto tranny out, as the old one was slipping badly, and have done some work on the switches, etc. but so far its been great. 3 days after getting it running I went to New Orleans and back, about 8 hrs R/T, and got about 20 mpg at 80 mph. Very nice ride!
