I have not yet checked that but will now. Thanks Steve!! I like the ideal of an idler arm as opposed to new fron suspension.

Did you check the idler arm on the "steering"? Mine did this and it was the bushings $17 (an arm is about $70)
Steve

I have a very high milage 733i that we love to bits. Very well looked after by previous owners but there is a new prob. When I go over any kind of a bump, the steering wheel vibrates like crazy. Worse at around town 40 - 50 mph pot holes. QUESTION IS Is this a shock replacement or the whole strut/spring combo I'm looking at replacing? I'm in Toronto Canada and have a wonderful non dealership mechanic but haven't had a chance to get in to see him. My first time to this site and I love it!! Cheers
