Can you hear your fuel pump running when you turn the key to "run"....the position right before "start"? Mine runs only at "start", and need to verify if thats normal! TIA


My 733i pump runs with the ignition in the run and start position. This can be verified by removing the fuel rail input from the pump and either connecting to a fluid pressure gauge, or allowing the gasoline to be pumped into a container {milk jug}. Specifications for flow can be found in either a Chiltons or Hanes manual easily. If no flow is present, verify if you have a pump in the gas tank and a booster pump. You will have to check volume rates there. You will need an assistant to troubleshoot where the flow issue is.
