HELLS YEAH. Represend for German speed. I think its pitiful that all these American cars with obsecenly large engines still dont crank out much HP. Keep kicking ass. I have a 733i right now, but soon I hope to have a 745 or hopefully an M5

Yeah, it is pitiful how a lowly $24K Camaro Z28 (not an SS) puts out only a measly 310hp with a plebeian 8 cylinders and a gargantuan 5.7 liters of displacement. Whereas the mighty $92K 750iL with its 5.4 liters of purebred 12 cylinders of German state of the art engineering puts out a whopping 326hp. Damn American cars with their huge engines are just pitiful, aren't they?

Get real, a STOCK 745i (stock being the key word) will not touch a stock '01 Z28. It's a fact proven by all the European magazines of the time. They all had high 6s to mid 7s 0-60 times for the 745i. The Z28 stomps to 60 in under 6 seconds comfortably. Top speed was often quoted at around 145mph for the Bimmer, 160mph for the Z28. I realize that one is a large sedan, the other one an unrefined muscle car, but numbers don't lie.

I realize that a modified TURBOCHARGED 745i can, and sometimes will easily beat a stock NORMALLY ASPIRATED Z28, but let's compare apples to apples. Stop ragging on American cars just because you drive a BMW.

I think you said it best, compare apples to apples. The 750iL is a big luxury sedan. I was simply stating that PERFORMANCE american cars dont touch bmws in terms of hp per liter. The Z28 would have about 54 hp/liter while lets say a 1987 M5 has about 75 hp/liter (256 hp-3.4 L engine). Don't get me wrong, the Z28 is a fast car. Just crude (in my snobby BMW owning eyes).
