hello, Ihave problems with my gearbox automatic : only the first drive run correctly the reverse run well for short time and the car stop it's look like we hold the brake park and if I increase throttle its very hard tout move. Can you help me to identify where I can find the problem? for info I think that 2 gear are on at the same time WY ? thanks and sorry for my poor english

I',m new to the ZF tranny as I have had mine for just a couple of months, but I bought the car knowing it had a bad one in it. Since then I've read most everything I can find on them. Sounds like your has died. Mine would barely move in first, but would run great from about 45mph and up. This tranny doesn't have much for linkages and vacuum lines to go bad, so unless your tranny's brain somehow got fried or its posessed, I think your going to need to rebuild or replace. Pull the dipstick and check the oil. If you have mechanical problems the oil should be dark in color and smell burnt, unless you just had it changed. If you pull the oil pan you will likely find a dark film on the bottom of the pan and lots of shavings on the magnets. A healthy, well maintained tranny should have a clean pan and only a minor amount of material on the magnets. These trannys benefit from regular oil changes (like every 20K miles, or less), not neglect. Sorry
Mark
