.. or across the Atlantic "transmission slipping" It's that stomach churning experience when the warning message comes up to say there is a transmission problem and when you talk to the dealer he immediately sees £ or $ signs - big ones. So what happens? Driving along - typically at high speed (that's why we all drive 7 series!) and it slips into 3rd or revs very high and seems to lose "grip". It also happens sometimes at low speeds and again it's just like the clutch slipping on a manual drive. Since it's an electronic gearbox the likely causes (according to the dealer) are - 1) it's a wiring fault, 2) it's a dirty switch or relay, 3) tha whole transmission needs replacing (that's the one he prefers) Anyone had anything similar?
