Hey there James, one thing, 7's are way cheaper than 6's (I was searching for a 6 but bought another 7). With the discription given it sounds like a $5000-7000USD, though vague, this might give you a good start base. Offer $5000 and see what happens, can't go wrong with saving some money, I just bought a mint '83 733i for $2800 canadian, so hey, go for it.

86 735i, 120,000 miles, rebuilt ZF4HP22 transmission, new paint (silver) no rust or accidents, Borbet type H 16X7.5 with 50% tread Dunlop SP Sport 4000's, very nice and very clean, pearl beige interior and Sony CD player. Includes original wheels - not known what quality of tires on original wheels. It looks really nice, but I haven't driven it yet, so I'm still hunting for a preliminary price neighborhood.
That's all I know about it, and being from the E24 world, 7 series are uncharted territory for me. If it were a six, I'd say it was worth about 8,000 or so - what is a good E23 7er of this description worth?

I appreciate all your input - thanks to all,
James
