Headlite Wiper/Washer Questions (archive)

Does anyone know how the headlite washers are supposed to work on these cars? (Euro 85-7) What activates them? Also there are three washer pumps on the front of the main washer bottle. What are the proper connections for these. The choices I have are Black/White with Brown, Purle/Black with Brown and Purple/Black with Brown/Black on the three connectors. And finally, the two windshield washing options are to push in on the wiper stalk (like changing the OBC display on the turn signal) and to pull back on the stalk, what's up with that. I know it has something to do with the intensive cleaner, but I can not read my German owners manual and the US version does not address these isues (N/A in US at that time.)
