Nobody answered your question??? I paid $1500 for my 237K 1982 733i.

Ask yourself, if these cars are such losers, why are there so many of them still on the road. This is my second 7 and they are the best road car I have ever ridden in. (Including Mercedes up to '86) I have the chronic broken climate control and am converting it to manual control. Not an impossibility, although I will have a couple of non-standard conrols and switches. Just requires basic mechanical knowledge and creativity (Think outside the envelope--Why does it have to be stock if something else works better. Come on folks... this is a forum.)

I took this car 3700 miles in six days last year, averaged 23-24 MPG @ approx 75 MPH interstate and mountain travel. Drove long hours and finished the trip refreshed. Used about 1 qt oil every other tank.

General Reliability-- It is, after all a BMW.
Keep the brakes up with good rotors and pads at all times. Do regular service and fix broken things right away, and BE CREATIVE!
