Anybody know if there is an easy, safe way to test the fuel injectors for clogging, good spray pattern, ect.? I have a '85 735i w/ 180K - thanks in advance
I just checked mine, but I won't say it was the easy way. I just pulled all of them and the injector manifold, and turned the ignition sw to get them to operate. Not pretty, but it worked. You may find they won't want to come out of the intake or injector manifold, and they certainly won't want to go back in with the same o-rings. The o-rings swell up with exposure to the fuel. You should get a set of new ones before you attempt to pull out the injectors.
Any reason in particular you want to pull & check them?

Yes - I had one replaced after taking my car to the shop for an intermittent bad idle problem that took them all day to figure out. While this fixed the immediate problem (the idle is much smoother but not perfect), my car has a intermittent rough idle, they checked out everything and mentioned that I need to replace several more to smooth out the idle - I told them I would take it from there since they charged me about $150 per infector plus labor. Instead of changing all of them I wanted to see if I could determine which one's were faulty - thanks for the tip
