Larry!
This is just a guess, so please take it as that,
but I strongly beleive, it has somthing
to do with your ECU Unit,
Your ECU Unit is right under the glovebox,
chek this, there is a hose conected to it,
replaice it, it goes from there, across the fire
wall, conecting with a splitter to the vacuum pump, then also replaice the hose which goes from
the engine block to that splitter,
this should NOT cost you more then 15$,
lets trye this first, should this not work,
did you test your coil? If a coil goes bad,
they do the weird things, I know an audi, if the
coil is bad, it just stalls right while you driving, first the rpm will not stay up and then,
nothing.

Hope this may help some Jens
