Car runs excellent on highway, but recently will not maintain a constant speed with cc. When you push the acceleration/set lever foreward the car will immediately drop to third gear and accelerate about ten miles per hour faster than before; then begin to coast and decelerate to an eventual stop (depending on the grade). This will happen each time you press the tempomat in the accelerate/set direction, all other cc functions do not seem to work. It worked fine a week ago when I drove back from New York.

I don't know where to start. Do you think this could be a bad connection between the tempomat and the amplifier, or could this be a malfunctioning cc module that needs replacing, or the DME (I hope not)? I think it may be a loose wire from the speedometer to the cc module. Any comments would be helpful before I tear the car apart again.

TIA
