'85 735i Auto Starter Problem - solenoid current (archive)

anyone know how much current is drawn by the starter soleniod from the ignition signal wire?

i'm looking at putting in a momentary switch in the engine bay to alleviate the no crank situation i have when
the engine bay is very hot after standing for about an hour on a veryhot day.
