Upgrading the engine from 2.8 litre to 3.5 litre (archive)

Posted by Chou Kee on February 02, 2001 at 01:19:25:

I bought a 83' 735i ( Euro version ) a year ago. Unfortunately the engine had down-graded to 728i engine ( due to cheaper Road tax scheme )

I had found a 1984 735i engine block with complete piston set, cam shaft, crank shaft and with a complete automatic gear box. It does not come with radiator, the fuel injection module, alternator, starter unit and etc.

Any idea if I could just replace the engine and the gearbox without chaning the other parts which means by using the existing radiator, the fuel injection module, alternator, starter unit and etc.

Please help.

Many thanks.
CK
