I have a 728i Euro Version. If you want to upgrade your 2.8l to 3.5, the simplest solution is
to put your 3.5l engine in your e23 with the gear box.
Verify the alternator because for 3.5l engine is more powerful than 2.8l (idem for starter unit).
For automatic gear box the radiator have a small
unit (at the right side).
