Rob, you have the 32 mm hex nut fan clucth. This nut is a left hand thread. Hopefully you will be able to hold enough force on the fanbelt to keep it from rotating while you remove it. If not you will have to find a strap wrench large enough to fit around the pully to hold it while you turn.

I know BMW makes a special holding tool to do this with but I have never seen it.
