I've painted a lot of cars. Nothing kills the value of a car more than a color change re-paint, unless you can hide every evidence of the repaint. Engine compartment, all Jams and inside trunk. Remove all hardware from the engine compartment, including engine, remove interior and all carpets, and all linings in trunk. This is called a "Ground Up" restoration. If you want to retain some value, leave it the same color. If you never plan to sell it, please yourself first!
