Thomas, according to BMW history, the 745 was only sold up until 1986. I would check the serial number on the car first.

The tranny is about $1500-$2000 to rebuild/replace, but when the car is running, it should be worth about $4000-$8000 depending on the condition.

I am a little skeptical about the 1987 production year... Maybe someone did an engine swap into an 87 735 in the past?
