745i Questions? (archive)

I bought a 85 745i for a $1000. I got it for the motor
mainly. I am going to put the motor in a 2800cs I also
bought for $700. But I want to drive the 745i until I
restore the 2800cs.
The 745i bogs when I step on the gas heavly at around
3000rpm. It justs dies. Does anyone know what could cause
this?
Also the trans seems to not want to shift at times.
Could this be the clutches or something electrical?
Are the clutches hard to change in these trannys?
