My windshield has developed a crack which is starting to spread. Can any one tell me what I need to be aware when taking the car in to have the windshield replaced? What should be the cost? Should I stick with BMW brand NEW or used, or can I go with a generic?

Fritz, find a qualified, certified auto glass shop in Altanta. They will be trained to install the glass correctly. Plus the glass they use will be designed for replacement in your BMW. I always say it ain't worth any shortcuts when it comes to windshield replacement. The last thing you want is that glass coming out and injuring you or killing you if you have an accident.
