I'm considering adjusting the valves on my 86 735i. I have never done this before, yet I fell that I am mechanically inclined enough to do this. Is this something I should have professionally done or is it fairly easy? I have the Bentley manual which should show the procedure, but I haven't pulled the book out of storage yet. Any advice would be appreciated.

Go for it, it is easy. I use a socket on the crank hub to turn the engine, pull the fan to do this.
