Creative heater/ac wiring (archive)

When my 86 L7 blew a heater core, I noticed someone had done some creative wiring with the heater/ac switch control unit. Is there a wiring diagram flying around somewhere? There doesn't appear to be a Bentley for this model, which is a total drag.

The previous owner clipped the black/white wire and hooked it into the green/white wire just about three wires down (this is from memory, so reality may be slightly different). I'd like to figure out what this clown was trying to do and really fix the problem instead of screwing around with jumpering wires together.

There appears to have been some heavy duty AC work on this car, including a switch to the new ozone friendly coolant. Dunno if that has anything to do with anything...

Might I add that replacing the heater core is oh-so-much-fun.

Thanks!
