First put some kind of towel under the engine,
and see if you can see where it drips,
now this may be combined with your smoke,
it maybe driping somewhere on a hot idem.

I can see the ATF fluid coming off the bottom of the power steering pump. Not really a drip, but it is obviously ATF (red) fluid. The hoses coming from the reservoir are damp with ATF fluid. The reservoir housing is a little damp and is collecting dirt.

I have had one instance where I had to add about a pint of ATF fluid to the reservoir. The steering was squealing and a little bit unresponsive. I checked the the fluid level at that time. In general it does not require much addition. I have been watching it closely. Seems to be a slow leak that is getting worse.

This is definately NOT related to the smoking issue. Hence, the separate posting :)
