1)After you park the car, engine oil on the valve stem, above the guide, runs down the stem shaft alongside the worn valve guide, and pools on the head of the valve.
2)The longer the car is parked, the more oil pools on the valve head.
3)It seems (or so it is with my 733) that if the car is parked on a steep incline (nose up), the amount of oil pooling is increased.
4)After a period of time, you start the car.
5)All the pooled oil is sucked into the cylinders and burned out the exhaust in a burst of blue-white smoke, which eventually stops after the accumulated oil is burned.
6)This process seems inconsistent at times, although I am surprised on a 200,000 mile engine that it is not a regular occurrence every time you park the car for an hour or longer.
I have 235K on my engine and something definitely would worry me if this smoking didn't happen almost every time I start the car. After it burns off, the car does not smoke until the next time I start it
This is an annoying problem, but innocuous only. The fix is very expensive, and will come back unless you use very late valve seals.
Bets that is the problem..
