My trusty and venerable (467,000 miles on original engine, never had the head off, or gone into at all internally, except valve adjustments)daily driver has a broken computer. I've checked the fuse inside the computer at the kick panel, and it's OK. The unit will suddenly be dark at startup, and maybe a day, or a week later, it'll come back.

I don't know whether it's the computer (at driver's kick panel) or the display unit in the dash. Do you E-23 gurus have any kind of clue??

When mine died it turned out to be the cable was just loose,It would flicker and come on and then go dark again and eventually it would flicker to life and work then after 4 days of searching every wire I just pushed the connection on the main OBC (the one under the kick panel) in and it worked fine.

Try both connections (kick panel and dash) and see if it helps any
