Ofcourse i knew that the A stands for automatic The model "i saw" belonged to my parents, and they always told me that it was an 8 zylinder, i dont know how they came to believe that. They always told me it was an 8 Zylinder, and i was 3 years old as we got the car (1983) so i believed them and never realy checked, now 4 years after we sold the car i read that it had 6 Zylinders so i was confused, first cause my parents told me different wise for 13 years and because i found it somewhat hard to believe that BMW would not build an 8 zylinder in their top sedan. I guess this means they did not have an 8 zylinder back then. I dont think the Model is "so different" i just never saw one with 6 headlights but loads with the normal 4 (and i kept a look out for if i ever saw one), so i thought i just would mention it since it increased my enthusiasm and love for this car. ( i also never came across a pic of one with 6 or anyone mentioning it). I do doubt that you could go to BMW and get your extra headlights built in. That would seem a bit extreme. I think that was a special build in by the pre owner of the car who drove it for 3 months (dont ask me why he sold it). hope that explains my question a bit
