The battery and alternator are less than 1 year old. I remember reading somewhere that these cars require a special type of battery, but it seems odd that a battery would only last 1 year.
I haven't had a chance to investigate yet, but I planned to first put a meter between the Pos. battery terminal and the cable. Can someone please tell me what current it will draw when key is off. Next, I will have the battery, then the alternator checked. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for the help
You do not need a special battery. If the battery checks out to be good then you have something that is drawing current when the car is parked. Be sure that all the interior, trunk and hood lights are off. Check all the simple things first. Then do the current draw test at the battery. Just because the battery is one year old does not mean that it is still good. Sometimes the one of the cells will short out and the battery is no good. Have a good shop check the battery first.
