I have a 1986 L7 - bouth it almost 3 years ago $2950 150,000 miles on it. Body was great, no rust and almost perfect clear coat. Interior was almost perfect too - the back seat doesn't even look like it was sat in. I now have almost 240,000 miles on it. I still have the TRX wheels and will probably replace them next year as I have plenty of life left on the tires. Many owners feel the TRX tires stink but with the new Bilstein shock all around and the typical front end parts replaced the car handles wonderfuly. If you don't mind getting your hands involved in maintenance the car is not expensive to maintain.

Good luck.
Randy

Greetings,

Yes I am new here :-) As I understand from searching around the last few minutes that an '87 L7 is a luxury variety of a 735i. (E23..yes i am THAT new to this maker) Can anyone elaborate as to what is "in" this car as it were? A friend from work is selling his, it has about 110k miles and has initially thrown out a price of $5,000 (US) from what I recall it is in beautiful shape (he hates driving) Apparently has all kinds of service records from a long-time friend/servicer (who happens to live down the block from him :-) The seller mentioned that one of the "engine-shock-absorbers" (or somesuch) is shot and needs to be fixed/replaced. (How serious is this problem btw:-)

Thanks for your thoughts on this car!
::runnign to Borders to see what else I can find out::

Allen
