My trans. is starting to shift hard, kinda like the clutch is going, it feels like when some one in a manual trans car lets the clutch up too fast. But it only does this sometimes, its not a regular thing yet. I do kinda beat on the car but its just mostly occasinal hard acceleration, and everyday I drive highspeeds. My friends all want me to burn out, but I stay away from doing that because I know the car cant handle it.

Thanks,
~James

All the versions of the ZF, both 3 and 4 speed, plain and electronically controlled can have problems. Some have been updated from the first versions that hit the streets when the cars were brand new, and don't act up the same way like they first did. Some problems only crop up when you beat on the cars.
Others are aging troubles that affect most Autos.

Next, the parts are higher than a domestic when you price out a rebuild . Straight exchanges are sometimes the way to go if you have a valve body problem. Not sure if this helps you.
Are you getting a particular trouble with your trans?
