brake fluid and Power Steering Question (archive)

OK,

I thought I understood the interface between the brakes and the power steering system; but then I started working on the brake system and now I have a few questions:

1) Is the brake fluid seperate from the Power Steering/Booster system. It seems to be seperate.

2) Any reason the booster fluid would leak out after I removed the Master Brake cylinder. I did not open any of those lines, but just about the entire contents leaked out from the front of the booster where the master cyl is bolted up.

3) Can I use DOT-3 or DOT-4 in the brake system.

Any assistance would be appreciated
