Karam, when your car is warmed up, you should see the aux fan running when you turn your A/C on or push in your defrost switch. Be VERY careful getting any fingers near the aux fan, as you could lose them.... it's sharp and very powerful! See my post at http://www.bimmer.org/e23/messages/messages/7927.html...

The problem with my fan was the resistor connection which is located right in front of the aux fan and slightly toward the driver's side.
