the temp guage on my 7er will not move. everything else is working fine how do i find out if it is the sensor/sending unit or the thermostat???tia and thanks for the help.
i got anxious and rep[laced the sensor and the thermostat. the guage still does not work and the top hose is hot but the bottom hose is cold. could this mean a clogged radiator or a defective thermostat. any help or thoughts would be appreciated thank you
Before you go to far, if the gage is the only problem you have it is probably just that, the gage itself or the circuit board it is attached to. You can check the temp probe, the manuals will give you a resistance reading for a specific temperature range. I would not go messing around with your cooling system if you had no problems previously, other than to verify you have coolant in the system. If you just changed the coolant, did you remember to bleed the thermostat housing by opening the small fitting and waiting for the bubbles to go away?
