Disconnecting the hose off that wastegate is just screaming to blow your engine up. When a turbo-charger wants to start to boost up it will (in theory) accelerate its spinning exponentially and with no limits. They put a waste gate there to limit it (6 psi stock I believe). When you disconnect that line you are allowing it to boost up to unlimited pressure, or until your engine blows I thought. Am I wrong?

I heard about disconnecting that line but they say to be careful you don't rev to high or (if you have a boost gage) not too much boost. It has the making for unlimited horespower (until your engine blows). Granted it will predetonate the fuel at 9 or 10 psi. It was my thought that if you disconnect the wastegate line and go up against a Viper you would probably blow the doors off of it (with 300-700 horsepower on tap). In conclusion (unless I am wrong about unlimited boost), I would put the tranny in 3-2-1 and not let it get into too much boost until 3 and then look out because you will probably start breaking the tires loose at 4000 rpm.
