A few problems with my '85 735i (archive)

I'm the proud new owner of a well kept '85 735i 5spd. I love this car, but there are a few minor problems (mostly electrical) that I'm the fine folks on this forum can help me with.

Cruise control: The cruise control is erratic. At first, I couldn't get it to work at all, but playing with the cruise switch has produced at least some results. I can now engage cruise, but when it engages, the car gradually increases in speed by about 10km/h, then the throttle drops off and the coasts back down to the set speed, and this process repeats unless I disable cruise. I can only disable cruise with the brake pedal (which is probably just dirty/poor contacts on the cruise switch

Temp Gauge doesn't work. Grounding the wire at the sensor has no effect. At first I thought I was dealing with a dead gauge, but a few days ago, there was briefly some life in it - it bounced around a bit, stopping just above cold for a little while, before it gave up again. I'm planning to pull the instrument cluster this weekend and look for loose connections.

The "Check" light always flashes when I start the car - even if I touch the brakes before hand. There are no lights on on the panel when the Check light flashes. Pressing "Check" clears the light, but also shows that the "Coolant" LED doesn't light. Would this be what the "Check" light is complaining about? One odd thing though is that the Cooland light DID come on a couple of times a few days ago

The "Engine Oil" light sometimes comes on on the control panel - usually after driving for awhile (15 minutes or more). The oil was changed yesterday and completely topped up, so I was surprised to see it come on today. Could it be a faulty sensor, or is it possible I've got clogged oilways in the engine such that over time, the level in the sump drops (and then returns to normal as soon as the car is shut off)?

"Inspection" light has come on. I just had it in at my mechanic's yesterday, where some work was done and the Inspection counter was reset. Any ideas what would cause it to come on again after only 30 miles? (it didn't come on right after the service was done - it was fine yesterday)

Seat memory doesn't work. The buttons have no effect at all, and neither of the LEDs ever light when pushing any of the recessed buttons. Both seats move fine in all directions though. Does the Seat Controller Module only control memory, or does it control all seat functions? I.e. should I be focussing on bad/dirty buttons or a bad seat module?

If anyone has on-line/electronic schematics for any of these systems, it would be greatly appreciated. My mechanic, as much help as he's been, only has them on microfiche and hand drawing every schematic I might need isn't how I want to spend my afternoon :)

Any and all help is appreciated - I'll share my findings with the community.
