Previously I failed California smog test for high nitrous ox. Suggestions came in from readers it was time to change the cat converter. Well I still fail after having a new catalitic converter installed and now with higher nitrous ox than the previous test. The engine at idle runs hot the aux fan is on. Timing seems to be about 18 deg instead of 8-10 degrees. The timing could be making the engine to run hot. How or what is making the timing off, I hope it is not wear in the timing chain. I have a triple core radiator, fan clutch is ok I cannot trust my temp gauge after sitting at strait up for a while it will just start dancing towards the red I can never really trust what it is telling me. I have bled the air at the thermostat. Are all these side effects from something else? Any suggestions apprecitated before it goes to the shop.
