I had the same trouble. I bought the Bentley Manual for the 5 series from Amazon .com. Same engines etc. It doesnt cover everything but it is a VERY good reference. Hope this helps

I was wondering if anyone would have any idea where I might be able to locate (buy/copy) a Service Manual for a 1985 735i. I have searched the archives. Dead end. I have searched Barnes & Noble.com. Dead end. Placed an e-mail to a .com company that says they have all this stuff, one week later and no response. Would just like to know what I'm taking apart. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
