This is a disease that is probable caused by too
much sun and not enough care(similiar to sunburn)
the paint is pealing off pretty much like your skin after sunburn, It is not the color paint that is so noticrable but the layers of "clear"
that are coming off. My 745i is a victim and also
has the dreaded "dash cracking" from it's years
of basking in the warm Florida baking sun. The
paint has to be stipped down to bare metal to be repaired basically. Being in New England this
sun poisoning is rare but we are subjected to cars having overdoses of salt which leads to
premature failing of the metals be it frame rails,
shock towers,quarter panels,doors etc. Hope
