THE RESET TOOL WILL NOT WORK IF THE 2 NICAD BATTERIES ON THE SERVICE INTERVAL BOARD IS BAD.I REPLACED MY BATTERIES A YEAR AGO.WITH A SOLDERING IRON AND 2 4.5 VOLT NICADS FROM RADIO SHACK.I HAVE A RESET TOOL AND THERE IS 2 ADAPTERS FOR DIFFERENT YEAR BIMMERS.BEST THING IS THAT YOU CANNOT USE A 2000 MODEL RESET TOOL ON A 1984 BIMMER BECAUSE IT WILL NOT FIT ON THE PLUG UNDER THE HOOD.
