I have haad our local drive shaft company install a new u-joint and balance the existing drive shaft for about $100 and it has worked just fine. Put a new center mount and bearing on if the old one looks worn at all. steve-chicago


Mechanic is telling me the u-joints are crimped on and he can't replace them, says I need to buy a new one. I thought I have read here that the u-joints can be removed and replaced, just some of them have bogies and some don't. Is he shooting straight with me?
