While driving down to Houston from Tulsa (500 miles), the speedometer died. It bounced back to life for a little while, then died again. All other instruments (other than odometer) are working. I did have the cluster out for HVAC repairs a few weeks ago, so it could be a loose connection. Any guesses?

Also, some excitement while we were coming down: at 80 mph the rear passenger tire blew, causing the rear to slide around a little. Kind of nerve racking. Replaced it with the stock spare (I am running 16" Mille Miglia II rims with 205/55-16 Yokohama AVID V4s). Looks kind of funny, but does allow running at full speed, though.

Any ideas on the speedo will be appreciated!

my best guess is the batteries need replacing in the service board behind the dash console or check electrical connections for the speedo on the rear diff.....ray
