My 735 runs great, but no air yet. Easy to work on, parts are not two bad, for the little things. But, you have to really love this car if you want reliable air after a zillion miles. I live in a hot climate, and the hoses deteriorate faster. Takes monkey hands to fix the vacum vent system, as the dash is !not! something you are going to want to remove. But here is a good caveat - double your money, and you can get an 89 735i in good condition if you look, and you won't sufer as steep a learning curve. I love my 85, but I paid 2600, and it already had the majors, drive shaft, head job, and cat + exhaust. Just my two bits.....
