Maybe I'm a little biased, but every now and then an M1 pops up for sale somewhere and the asking price is usually in the mid 60s to mid 70s. Now, here's where my BMW bias kicks in, I would much rather own an infinitely more beautiful and rare M1 than a new Porsche Carrera. My brother-in-law has an '01 Carrera that I've driven a few times and it's nice and all, but I don't like it as much as the 993s that preceded it and definitely don't like it anywhere near as much as an M1, which would have cost him the same.
