need bigger driveway and tranny question (archive)

Will be picking up another e23 on mon or tues(another
sold call parts car for my self-inflicted damage to 735i)
will now have 3 euro 7's in driveway and wife will still let me in the house.This on is a non running 78 733i with manual trans. I moved shifter around and it felt like a 5 spd and reverse was down to left is this a "sport trans"
as i believe most early sevens were 4 speeds. are there
any numbers on trans that would tell me what it is? Car has not ran since before present owner purchased it(1998)
and has rechromed euro bumpers with new mounts not even on car yet,supposedly rebuilt head new alt,starter and several
other things guy want to restore it and now lacks time/money
and his wife too be says it has to go
